Jeddah is historically the gateway to Makkah and a commercial hub. It has always been the entry point for pilgrims arriving by sea or air on their way to Makkah for Umrah or Hajj, and it naturally became a centre for trade. In modern history, when it was developed into a beautiful coastal city, Jeddah was named the “Bride of the Red Sea.
Jeddah Season has put a bright face on the city, showing its potential as a tourist destination.
